William Gibbs of London.

£10,800.00

Shown here unrestored is a fine and quite small, twin fusee mantel clock. Sometimes these are described as library clocks or ‘five glass’ mantel clocks. This good example strikes on a large coiled gong behind the pendulum. The tone of this clock is wonderful and much deeper than you would expect from a small clock. William Gibbs of London is recorded working circa 1860 and this clock would date to around that period, possibly a little earlier at 1850.
