Jersey Longcase clock
It’s not very often we have a clock that really does tick all the boxes! This Mahogany longcase has a very attractive inlaid case. A superb full brass dial showing the makers name cartouche, seconds, Strike – silent so you can silence the clock at will. The silvered chapter ring showing Roman numerals and Arabic minutes engraved and filled with engravers wax. The maker, Michael Quesnel of the Channel Islands, Jersey was making clocks from 1771. He is recorded in B.Loomes – Watch and Clockmakers of the World, Book. This clock would have been made circa 1780-90. The clock has a wonderful patina.
