Dixon et Fils a Paris, Raingo
A fine and early carriage clock. The case is constructed as ‘ multi-piece’ case with solid rear door and early handle design. The original and unusual jeweled lever, platform escapement is superb and untouched. The clock is ‘countwheel’ striking on a bell and can be left silent (if you do not wind the strike side). The Silvered dial showing Roman numerals and true Breguet hands. The bevelled glass to all sides are perfect. The clock is stamped Dixon et Fils and the plates are stamped with a small stamp for Raingo Freres established in 1813. we would date this clock to aRound 1820-30. This is a very original, rare and early carriage clock that would appeal to the collector or investor.
