Desbois & Wheeler Table clock
A fine and small Regency ‘Table’ or ‘Bracket’ clock from the partnership of Daniel Desbois (1773-1848) and Mr Wheeler (trying to find out more info). They were active from 1790-1835 and produced some of the finest clocks and watches of the Regency period. They had a premises at No 9 Gray’s Inn Passage in Central London. This clock has just arrived and will going through a full restoration. The clock has strike – silent to the arch, pull repeat and unusually the clock features an enamel and engraved brass, dial. This dial arrangement is ‘by far’ the rarest, and to us, the most desirable. It is complimented with a pair of gilded brass hands. Importantly it is the size of this clock which makes it very unique.
