Carriage Clock with Calendar
Here we have a carriage clock of exceptional quality. The gilt case is hand engraved and shows flowers, leaves and area’s of matting which is carried through on to the dial mask. The dial shows two smaller ‘sub’ dials with one for the calendar and the other for the alarm function. The clock has push repeat and Bell strike for the hours and half hours. The clock has the stamp to the front plate H.L. of Holingue frères. This clock was most likely supplied to Drocourt as a blanc roulant, then engraved and finished and sold to a fine British retailer. We have seen very similar clocks retailed by Grohe of Wigmore Street, London. The clock is numbered 3310. The Morrocan leather case it is supplied with is not the original but is a very good contemporary match in both period and style. Sold fully serviced and guaranteed for 24 months.
