The clock is not attached to the base and can be lifted seperately using the carry handle, also engraved and delicately shaped. The movement has been fully overhauled and runs perfectly, with alarm function and push repeat button to the top, to strike the last hour. Although unsigned it is numbered and probably from Richard & Co., circa 1880-1890. It is worth noting that oval carriage clocks are not rare, but finding one with a stand such as this does make it quite unique and enhances the clock.

The case has been carefully constructed of gilt brass and silver plated brass giving a very appealing two tone appearance.  We have painstakingly taken the whole case and movement to pieces - pictures can be emailed of the restoration. The clock has had a full overhaul and service and is sold with our 24-month guarantee. The original outer leather case has the corresponding number on it and is quite large to accommodate this substantial clock. Of the many different types of carriage clocks we have had over the years we have not had one like this. Quite unique and rare. RESERVED
