Here we have a rare, late Georgian Longcase clock in a highly figured Mahogany case of good colour and proportion. The 12" silvered dial is finely engraved with Roman numerals and the makers name. E. Watson of King Street, Cheapside. The clock has the look of a domestic regulator and benefits from an Egyptian inspired Sarcophagus Pediment. The case has line ebony inlays and the trunk has canted sides and an architectual door held with a lock and key. The base is untouched and remains the height it was made, no reductions. 8 day duration and bell striking on the hour. Ideally this clock needs to be viewed in our shop to fully appreciate the slim and classic Regency look of this clock which could work in almost any interior.
