The red tortoiseshell case is inlaid with fine Boulle work in great condition, with beautifully detailed cast brass foliage mounts to the edges of the case as well as decorative splayed feet, topped by an attractive floral cast brass finial. The typical sunburst pendulum is visible through the glass aperature to the front face, below an ornate gilt brass dial with enamelled number cartouches, showing blue Roman numerals, and a delicate pair of hands. Inside, the 8 day movement striking the hour and half hour on a bell, wound from the front. Overall a very attractive clock. Made circa 1890 by Japy Frères of Besancon, France.

This clock comes with an identically decorated Boulle bracket, as seen in the pictures, which can be restored if requested for an extra cost. We recommend you come into the shop to see this pair! 8 day movement, gong striking on the hour and half hour. Made in Paris circa 1890 by A.D. Mougin, who won two gold medals at exhibitions. A very attractive clock and quite hard to find. Bracket measures D130mm, W155mm, H195mm, overall height with clock standing on bracket is 505mm.
