A good 8inch dial, small Oak Railway clock made by Reid & Co of Newcastle. The clock is numbered 6928 and from the L.N.E.R records it shows that this was in use during the late Victorian period through the Edwardian period at the Oil & Gas works in the Center of York. The maker Reid & Co of Newcastle would have made this circa 1880-90 for the L.N.E.R Railways. The case colour is 'Honey' Oak and the movement is high quality and substantial 8 day single fusee with heavy 'bob' pendulum. The Bezel is cast brass, unlike the later cheaper 'spun' bezels. Sold fully restored with a 24month guarantee.

A fine small wall clock / timepiece, dating to around 1910, retailed by Boatman of Grays. What sets this clock apart from a lot of others is the beautiful patination of the dial (please see close up images). The overall size of the clock is pleasing as the dial only measures 8" across. The clock is manually wound and runs for a week. The case is a polished hardwood, possibly Beech. It has a lovely mechanical tick. Perfect for almost any interior.

A very nice railway clock of good colour. This clock is a great size with a newly reconditioned 8 inch dial in cream enamel. Convex glass, brass bezel, nicely balanced wooden case with side door and lockable door to the bottom. Signed John Walker of 1 South Molton Street, a prominent clockmaker, known for supplying railway clocks, established in 1830 and recorded operating out of Molton Street from 1906. The dial bears the number 4143, which is also written on the back of the dial plate and engraved into the rear of the case. The label to the rear of the case shows a stamp from Watford Junction, making it quite a rare clock from this area. The hour hand quite an unsual shape, suggesting perhaps that the movement was made by Benson.
