Early 12″ Dial Fusee Wall Clock – Richard Clark, Newport
Richard Clark became a clockmaker in the town of Newport on the Isle of Wight and had a successful business in the High Street making clocks & selling clocks and watches. This clock with a wonderful 12″ convex dial with original steel hands has a substantial fusee ‘A’ shape movement of the earlier style. The original Mahogany case is well preserved and has one side door and the lower convex door held with a latch. The surround has a good profile and is also very narrow. The superb cast brass bezel is the original and held with a lock and key which is rare to find. The glass is high convex and adds to the appeal. The clock has recently been through a full restoration of the case and movement and will of course carry our 24 month guarantee. Take a look through the pictures and if you require any further information please let us know. The clock was made around 1820-30.
