Fine Carriage Clock
This fine gorge cased carriage clock was made in Paris circa 1870-80. The clock is in very original condition with original gilt in places and with a gilt ‘engine turned’ masked dial. Thick bevelled glass to all sides and a top glass to view the original Bi-metallic, jeweled silvered lever escapement . Push repeat and gong striking on the hour with alarm facility. The movement is completely original and serviced, cleaned and polished and sold with a full 24 month guarantee . The dial showing Roman numerals with the blued steel Breguet hands. Unusually the alarm dial has Romans instead of Arabic’s which is very attractive and quite rare. This is one of the slightly larger sizes of ‘gorge’ case and is very pleasing ‘in hand’. Numbers stamped to the front plate suggest being made by Drocourt.
