Convex Dial – Watkins of Chepstow
William Watkins was born in January 1826 and became a clockmaker in the town of Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales. This fine clock with a wonderful 12″ convex dial and original blued steel hands has a substantial fusee movement in quite a unique shape. The Mahogany case is well preserved and has two side doors and the lower convex door held with a lock and key. The cast brass bezel is the original and held with a latch. The photos really don’t quite get across how attractive this wall clock is. If you can pop in to our shop and see this in real life …we don’t think you’ll be walking out empty handed!
