Parkinson & Frodsham Carriage clock
A ‘Gorge’ case Carriage clock with enamel dial signed Parkinson & Frodsham, Royal Exchange, London. Charles Frodsham was amongst the finest clock and watchmakers in the 19th Century and was the successor to Arnold. As well as numerous other medals , C.Frodsham won the first-class medal at the Great exhibition of 1851 & Parkinson and Frodsham were Chronometer makers and produced some of the finest gold pocket watches of the 19th Century. This clock has hourly strike on a gong and once for the half hours. The case has substantial original gilding with a matt ‘frosted’ finish and is very attractive. The push repeat button above the enamel dial and retains the original silvered ‘Platform’ with lever escapement. The hands are the original and elegant against the well proportioned Roman numerals. The dial is perfect. A good investment clock. Height is with Handle up
