Klaftenberger Carriage Clock
A fine Carriage clock retailed by Klafternberger of 157 Regent Street, London. Charles Klaftenberger was in business from 1863 to 1881, he sold the finest carriage clocks of the period, he used mainly Drocourt and Jacot as his suppliers and this example has the oval Jacot stamp to the inside back plate, between the plates (see image). This is a superb example with the original jewelled lever and silvered platform escapement and the addition of alarm function. The clock is number stamped – 1452 with Klafternberger engraved at the bottom of the backplate. A good 8 day, push repeat , bell striking movement fully serviced and hand polished.
