Miniature Asprey Timepiece
A very attractive small and rare carriage – timepiece dating 1909. The case is ‘tortoiseshell effect’ resin which has been cleverly shaped and decorated with 9ct gold handle, bezel, hinge and bun feet. The clock is wound through opening the rear door and using the small turn-key. The hallmarks indicate Asprey & Co of London. Asprey was originally founded in 1781 by William Asprey and has remained a fashionable store for unique gifts. This example with gold details is highly unusual and a very nice find! The case has tiny hair line at the top right rear corner which only shows under close inspection. The clock will run for a week on a wind.
