Carriage Clock – Last a Paris

This is one of those clocks that really does have to be seen in ‘the real’. We have tried to photograph it to show the two colour design. The clock is Gilt on brass and Rhodium on brass. The case is quite substantial with columns and capitals, yet still has a certain finesse. The white enamel dial is signed Last of Paris who was working throughout the late Victorian period and selling clocks through British retailers right up until the outbreak of the first world war. The clock strikes the hours and half hours on a coiled gong for a soft and pleasant strike.  All bevelled glasses and all original throughout.
