8″ Wall Clock by Boatman of Grays
A fine small wall clock / timepiece, dating to around 1910, retailed by Boatman of Grays. What sets this clock apart from a lot of others is the beautiful patination of the dial (please see close up images). The overall size of the clock is pleasing as the dial only measures 8" across. The clock is manually wound and runs for a week. The case is a polished hardwood, possibly Beech. It has a lovely mechanical tick. Perfect for almost any interior.
Omega Speedmaster 66 ‘Pre-Moon’
This 1966 Omega Speedmaster is the 'one year only' C.B. (La Centrale Boites) lugs case, sub reference 105.012-66 C.B. Inside is the famous calibre 321 movement, with the original pushers and stainless steel strap, model 1039 with 516 endlinks, all correct and original for the date of the watch. We have not polished the case and it shows a few age related marks as can be seen in the pictures. The case can of course be gently polished if you require it. The dial is in great condition having had the Lume plots tidied up by the foremost 'Lume' specialist in the UK. Original hands Also note the raised polished logo. The bezel is the original Dot over ninety and in remarkable condition only showing a few age related marks. Overall we would say that this 'Pre Moon' example of the classic Speedmaster from 1966 is a superb watch and having an unpolished C.B. case is extremely rare.
Porcelain Panelled Carriage Clock
An extremely fine and rare mid 19th century French 'repeating' carriage clock with an enamelled top, side panels and matching dial. The porcelain is from the Sevres (Billancourt) area of Paris and decorated beautifully with jewelled borders and painted with flowers, flying songbirds, and classical romantic garden scenes. The classic Cobalt blue borders work extremely well against the contrasting gilt case. Jewels on the front and sides being fully intact and the paintwork unmarked. Bell striking 8-day movement with original lever escapement and push repeat feature. These enamel style carriage clocks are quite rare and highly sought after, this example being a rather nice entry point into the market . This clock is shown fully restored, Sold with a 24 month RTB guarantee.
Omega De Ville Tank
An attractive rectangular Omega watch measuring 34mm in length and 23mm in width without the crown. The rare bronze-beige coloured dial matches well with the gold baton hour indices and hands, making for a very nice looking watch. Some small scratches to the glass. Large ‘Corinithian’ Carriage Clock with Repeat
A fine and large (semi giant) Carriage clock with push repeat by Richard & Co of Paris. The clock is substantial and has an unusual case design of extraordinary quality. The engraved dial mask is very finely engraved (see close up pictures), the barley twist columns with Corinthian capitals are beautifully detailed, the heavy gauge cast brass construction gilded with thick bevelled 'white' glass panels to each side. The dial is perfect and free of chips and hairlines. The movement is stamped with Richard & Co and is numbered. The original and extremely fine, silvered platform and escapement is large and has a compensated balance wheel. The hourly gong strike is mellow and has the one strike for the half hour. Interestingly (for horologists) this clock features a clever Hour wheel design which stops the hours from getting muddled if the clock took a 'bump' on your journey. The name carriage clock was derived from the original French term of 'Pendule Portative', a clock designed to be robust and yet elegant and portable to travel with.
Please remember we are open every day from 9am until 5pm but closed Sundays and Mondays. email to reserve!
Exceptional Giant Carriage Clock – J.W.Benson
A particularly elegant example of a giant carriage clock, made by Drocourt and retailed through J.W. Benson circa 1900. It is rare to come across a giant carriage of such fine quality, and this timepiece is in excellent condition with a beautiful gilt finish. The original enamelled dial is signed J.W. Benson, Ludgate Hill, London, with large Roman numerals and outer minutes of typical Drocourt style. The movement is stamped DROCOURT, hidden between the plates and the Oval logo to the rear. As with all of our clocks, it has been cleaned and restored, and the exceptional condition of the movement can be seen through the bevelled glass panels, along with the beautiful large top quality platform escapement, J.W. Benson had a thriving business with Alfred Drocourt throughout the late Victorian period and into the Edwardian period, and this clock is one of the best examples we have seen from this partnership. Interestingly the springs on this clock are signed A.D 12/02, the signing of clock springs was usually carried out by the person who assembled it. Alfred Drocourt would have enjoyed assembling this ‘Giant’ in 1902!
Zenith 24hr Wall Clock
A twist on the traditional dial clock. This timepiece was made by Zenith (the famous Swiss Watch manufacturer) and features a superb quality Swiss, 18 day movement with a center winding position and domed dial made from what we think is Oak but could be Beech! It's a hard to tell. This example is roughly 13" size and has the addition of a 24hr dial within the 12hr chapter ring. Mainly Heals retailed these clocks (timepieces) from the 1930's to 1960's and they have become quite collectable in recent years. With brass numerals and hands and supplied with a winding key.
Omega Speedmaster – Limited Edition
This is the 'First Omega in Space' Limited Edition of the classic early Speedmaster. It was produced to commemorate the 50 years from when Wally Shirra, in 1962 wore the 'first' Omega Speedmaster in space during the Sigma 7 mission as he navigated around our planet. It was his very suggestion that NASA supplied astronauts with chronographs for further space missions and that started with the Gemini program. These are no longer available (a limited edition) and are becoming a modern classic. This model also has the domed sapphire crystal which is a bonus for every day wearing. The dial features a lot of the early style with raised logo and longer hour indices. A great watch with all boxes, cards, outer boxes and hang tag. this was made in 2020 and reference number 311.32.40.00.01.001 measuring almost 40mm across the width as per original reference.
Early ‘Wooden Convex’ Trunk dial Wall Clock
A fine and quite rare 14inch dial wall clock with an interesting history. We recently purchased this and another clock from a customer in London who worked at Holborn Town Hall. A little of the history...This wall clock hung in Holborn Town Hall which is a beautiful building at 193-197 High Holborn and in the French Renaissance style built in 1879. The building was originally a Library and we know this clock was in a small room off the entrance area. It's a late Georgian clock circa 1810. Camerer Cuss were just around the corner on Oxford Street and we could guess that they either supplied the clock or looked after it and restored it over the years. Holborn town hall was moved to a more 'modern' 1970's style building opposite King's Cross Station and the beautiful building near the end of Oxford Street was sold to a private company. You can view the Old Town Hall on Google maps. The clock or timepiece ( as it's not a striking clock ) is one of the best we have ever offered for sale. The movement has been fully overhauled and the case tidied and waxed. A point of note is the very domed dial and matching convex glass. A fine example of the classic 'trunk' dial wall clock.
William Comyns
A fine and small William Comyns timepiece. The beautiful 'mock' tortoise shell case with bun feet and shaped handle gives the clock a timeless design. The handle, hinge, bun feet and bezel are all solid silver and 9ct gold plated. The clock retains the original outer leather covered case which is in good but slightly distressed condition. This has obviously led to the little timepiece being protected and having survived in remarkable condition.
Hardy Bros Silver Timepiece with Case
This is an exceptionally well preserved solid silver timepiece retains its outer leather covered protective travel case. We sell a lot of clocks and have done for over 43 years, yet we have not seen this design before, its very 'clean' design and simple geometric pattern are pleasing. It was retailed by Hardy Bros of the prestigious Old Burlington Street in Mayfair, London, we estimate at around 1920-30. Further research of the hallmarks and stamps to be exact though. The case has a small recess for the key (which is original) and leather covered with two hinged doors, silk lined and printed with the retailers name.
Rare Paul Garnier Mantel Clock
A fine Rosewood mantel clock by the well know makers Paul Garnier and Henry Marc. It’s difficult to explain why this clock is so rare, but we will try. Paul Garnier invented a type of escapement for his clocks which allowed the clocks to be pendulum free. This escapement is called the Chaff Cutter, two plane escapement and was in use on most of the early carriage clocks he made. There are very few clocks which have survived with the Chaff Cutter intact. What’s lovely about this particular clock is the small viewing glass to the top, essentially showing off his invention. The 'blanc roulant' was supplied to P.G. by Henry Marc. A blanc roulant is a movement sold to a clockmaker to finish with his or her escapement of choice. The clock is quite sall and constructed of Rosewood with fine boxwood inlays and marquetry work. The dial is a mellowed gold colour and the hands are the original and quite unique. A very rare and attractive clock. Quite possibly 1830 to 1850.
Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean

This watch is powered by Omega's extremely reliable co-axial 2500 automatic movement which has earned this watch its title of being a officially certified chronometer. The simple yet elegant design of this watch makes it perfect to wear every day comfortably. The timeless design, black/silver colouring means this will never be out of style and will become a future classic. This watch has just undergone a very light polish to sharpen up the case and is currently sitting on a new black silicon diving strap but also comes with the original Omega leather strap and omega deployment buckle. Pictogram card, warranty card and chronometer certificate cards all sold with watch.
Omega Constellation
Here we have a beautiful 1960's Omega Constellation with a absolutely stunning, rose gold 564 calibre automatic movment that has just been completely stripped down and serviced. The vintage cream dial adds a lot of character to the watch with only slight staining near the date window, but still shines beautifully when in the light. The 564 automatic movement gained the Omega Constellation its title of being an offically certifed chronometer after thorough testing and examination of its extremely accurate and precise time keeping capability. The constellation is one of Omega's oldest collections and also one of the most collectable, this watch is a prime example of a vintage Omega that still looks stylish and classic on the wrist, to this day.
Omega Seamaster 600m

On the dial you will see a small seconds sub-dial along with 60-minute and 12 hour counters to insure perfect readings of elpased time. This watch will come with a offical Omega wooden box along with the manual and papers.

Lenzkirch Mantel Clock
A very attractive quarter striking mantel clock with ormolu decorations on a very well figured Burr Walnut case. The full brass dial shows gilded Spandrels and the silvered Chapter ring. A Fleur de lys Hour hand, matted dial center and bevelled silvered 'sight'. If you know your German clocks, you will know that Lenzkirch Clockmakers were based in Lenzkirch the Municipality in the German Black Forest and are regarded as the very best quality. Exceptional Table Clock – Viner
Charles Edward Viner was working in Clerkenwell, London from the 1780's until 1879 and this twin fusee (chain), six pillar clock with maintaining power, quarter striking and strike-silent, is a rare example of his exquisite clock making. The Architectural pediment is removable (quite unique) and allows for careful regulation and viewing of the rather special, jeweled lever escapement. The case is constructed of Walnut and has fluted columns at all four corners. The dial quite possibly from the same workshops as Thomas Cole's, beautifully engraved and gilded. Rear winding, rear hand set and strike silent lever, with a sub seconds dial below the Twelve. The dimensions of this clock can be seen below, it is quite small, although it does have a 'large' sound as the gongs are soft and deep. This clock has just arrived and will be undergoing a full restoration. Please message us to reserve.
Please remember we are closed Sundays and Mondays,.
If we have not responded to an email, we may not have received it...please call as well.
Henry Capt – Carriage Clock – Small
A fine and perfectly proportioned carriage clock with alarm, strike and push repeat. What makes this one quite interesting is the size. This is a very small example by Henry Capt of Geneva. The gilded case is wonderful and has a soft 'satin' type finish. The dial is almost perfect with an almost imperceptible hair line in the top right corner (hidden). The dial is attractively decorated with Arabic numerals instead of Romans. and the backplate is engraved with the makers name under the hand 'set' square. All in all, this is very good little example of quite a rare size clock by an exceptional maker!
Miniature Timepiece with Original Case
You don't often see these little miniature carriage timepieces with their original case and original key. This one has both and a fine example it is. The case has much more detail than the average and the leather covered outer case has the little latches to secure the protective lid. The clock has been thoroughly serviced and overhauled and we also striped the case down, polished and professionally lacquered. The dial is immaculate, and the hands are original too. A very small and great example for the collector or perhaps a special occasion or birthday! Only 8cms tall.
Omega Seamaster 300 – 1966
A very good example of the classic dive watch. The Seamaster 300 by Omega became a true 'tool' watch of the Special forces, the Royal Navy, Deep sea workers and civilians alike. The large triangle at 12 on these 66 models are quite rare and in our opinion the non date, large triangle, gilt is the best combination. The original bakelite bezel is not perfect but as you would expect on these 50+year watches. The case is also unpolished with 'dings' here and there but 100% original, even the crystal is the original with small logo to the center. The dial had very poorly applied Radium lume which was common with these and we had a lume expert apply in the correct way 'puffy' and use 'fast fade' to help with the original look. The watch also comes with the Extract from the Archives of Omega showing it was sold in the UK on October 3, 1966, these are important to have with the 60's Seamasters and cost around £100! It will be supplied with a NATO strap in Cream and black stripe which we feel works well with it and also a grey military style NATO as well as the original S/Steel Omega strap. If you are looking for a daily wearer, a watch that already has patina and character and not a watch to hide away in a safe, this might just be the perfect watch!
Parkinson & Frodsham Carriage clock
A 'Gorge' case Carriage clock with enamel dial signed Parkinson & Frodsham, Royal Exchange, London. Charles Frodsham was amongst the finest clock and watchmakers in the 19th Century and was the successor to Arnold. As well as numerous other medals , C.Frodsham won the first-class medal at the Great exhibition of 1851 & Parkinson and Frodsham were Chronometer makers and produced some of the finest gold pocket watches of the 19th Century. This clock has hourly strike on a gong and once for the half hours. The case has substantial original gilding with a matt 'frosted' finish and is very attractive. The push repeat button above the enamel dial and retains the original silvered 'Platform' with lever escapement. The hands are the original and elegant against the well proportioned Roman numerals. The dial is perfect. A good investment clock. Height is with Handle up
Silver William Comyns Timepiece
A fine, solid silver hammered case carriage timepiece with an enamelled dial and fine blued steel hands. Standing on small 'Bun' feet.

The clock case was made by the very respected Silversmiths - William Comyns and bears the hallmarks of the W.C logo and the letter 'K' for 1905. This clock is quite large, unlike many smaller silver timepieces and sits nicely on mantel or shelf. Being larger it makes it easier to read the time!. A beautiful object and good investment. Sold with a 24month R.T.B guarantee.
(Height measurement is with handle down)
TREE Wall Clock
This small 'dial' or 'school' clock as they a fondly known, has a ten-inch dial signed by the clockmaker Tree of 121 Great Dover Street, London. The clock has undergone a complete 'strip down' clean, service and rebushing etc (see pictures) and carries our 24 month guarantee. The original dial has been carefully restored and the Mahogany case has been cleaned, waxed. The curved lower door is held with a lock and key, the side door is held with a simple latch. The convex glass over dial helps reduce reflections. There are three clockmakers working in London under the name of Tree. Charles 1881, James 1851-81 and Alfred 1869. It is difficult to be exact with such close dating and they are most likely all related, we would take an educated guess at James Tree as he worked for the longest period known and this clock dates to around 1880, but of course it could be Charles. The clock or timepiece is 'Fusee' and has a substantial and high quality movement with heavy lead filled, brass faced pendulum bob. A great little clock !
We used Watch and Clockmakers of the world Vol2 for the research.
Elegant Mantel Clock
This is a very small and attractive timepiece of extremely high quality. The case is constructed in the traditional Georgian style being of Oak with a thick Mahagany 'flame' veneer, the colour and patina are perfect, chestnut and toffee! The dial has been signed to the rear Frodsham and C then Sec'? The high quality movement has been fully overhauled (and does not have a pendulum you have to worry about fitting). The case features 'fish scale' frets to both sides, a fret work rear door and a full opening front. The dial is 'off white' showing Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The clock stands on 4 bracket feet and has a solid cast brass carry handle. Quite an usual clock and very small in comparison to other Bracket clocks. There are of course many Frodshams listed in the clockmakers volumes. The quality of this fine clock does suggest London cabinet making and clockmaking.

The clock has the stamp to the front plate H.L. of Holingue frères. This clock was most likely supplied to Drocourt as a blanc roulant, then engraved and finished and sold to a fine British retailer. We have seen very similar clocks retailed by Grohe of Wigmore Street, London. The clock is numbered 3310. The Morrocan leather case it is supplied with is not the original but is a very good contemporary match in both period and style. Sold fully serviced and guaranteed for 24 months.
‘Liberty’ Style Mantel Clock
This is such and attractive little clock. The dial is white with Roman Numberals, the outer edge of the dial has deep red Arabic minutes at the quarters. The slender hands are blued steel. The case is made from hammered copper which has then been silver plated. It stands on splendid 'Bun' feet with a little decoration above and then a small oval motif on the center line of the base.
